Every year, three International Sessions of the European Youth Parliament take place in different European countries. EYP Germany is glad to host the 72nd International Session of the European Youth Parliament in Munich.
From 5 April to 14 April more than 300 young Europeans, aged 16 to 20, from 36 European countries will gather in the south of Germany to voice their opinion on current European issues. Janez Potočnik, European Commissioner for Environment, the Bavarian Minister-President, Horst Seehofer and Munich’s Lord Mayor, Christian Ude, have kindly granted patronage to the event. On the European level all our activities are organised under the patronage of the Secretary-General of the Council of Europe, Thorbjørn Jagland.
Resources – A European Strategy for Sustainable Growth
The delegates will primarily discuss the importance of resources for Europe. The issue dominates much of the current public debate and greatly shapes political and economic relations.
The Programme of the Session
The International Session in Munich consists of three phases: Teambuilding, Committee Work and the General Assembly. Next to these, the broad session programme is full of further highlights such as a concert filled with performances by the participants or the presentation of national traditions and culinary specialties during the so-called ‘EuroVillage’.
The organisers of the 72nd International Session of the European Youth Parliament have already been preparing for many months to ensure the session will run as smooth as possible. The team is divided in various ressorts in order to both utilise unique competencies and improve each other’s organising skills. Most organisers have already taken various roles in previous sessions and thus enough experience to further improve session elements and work on new concepts.
